Looking for a new restaurant to try in Toronto this weekend? Queen West has added a new(ish) Italian restaurant to its strip. While it may not be teeny tiny with only five coveted tables, or have 3-hour long waits and ridiculously long lineups, there’s no reason to disregard the spacious and low key setting of Destingo located on the south side of Queen at Tecumseth. And with Winterlicious kicking off at the end of the month, you may also want to add Destingo to your list of restaurants to visit as BlogTO just named it one of the 20 restaurants to eat at during Winterlicious 2014.
Here’s a look at what we saw, and what we ate:
With a wide, all-glass front, Destingo offers an amazing view of Queen West!
A delicious and fresh plate of carpaccio.
Classic bruschetta to start off the meal!
A light arugula salad topped with green apple, walnuts and parmesan.
Shrimp sauteed in lemon butter? Simply amazing.
Still drooling over this bowl of tagliatelle with mushrooms.
Loved the huge open kitchen!
The only reason there are any leftovers at all is because we got too full! We loved every bite.
Especially the freshly made Tiramisu…
We were rather impressed with their stocked wine wall that faced the spacious (and wheelchair friendly) main floor washrooms.
Thinking about giving Destingo a try? They also (gasp!) take reservations!
Thank you for having us! Until next time.
