Summertime in Toronto is the best for many reasons (no cold, park hangs, did I mention the no cold?) but especially for the live music scene which really helps the city come alive during the warmer months. This year is no exception with a ton of great festivals taking place that you don’t want to miss, especially due to (gasp!) an unfortunately timed allergy attack. Along with those coveted tickets, I always make sure I’ve got REACTINE® safely tucked away in my purse before leaving the house to hit any festival or show. A girl’s gotta be prepared, doesn’t she?
Here are my picks for the Top 5 Toronto music festivals of 2015 that you DON’T want to miss because of an allergy attack:
Toronto’s downtown community music and arts festival returns this summer at Fort York & Garrison Common. Personally I can’t wait to see Alabama Shakes, Arkells, and Calvin Love hit the stage, among many others of course. Prices start at $70, free for kids 12 and under http://www.fieldtriplife.com/
In the UK, Bestival is quite a big deal. For the first time ever in Bestival history, it is launching its very first Bestival overseas. It just so happens that team Bestival handpicked Toronto’s very own Toronto Island for its first overseas venue. Lucky us? Indeed. Headliners for the June festival include none other than Florence + The Machine, Nas, Caribou, Jamie XX and many more. Tickets start at $249.50 http://www.bestival.ca/
I’ve got a real soft spot for NXNE in Toronto. As a city we are really lucky to have an annual week-long festival that brings in such great global acts, that allows us see them at a very affordable price (week passes are only $49), and most often the biggest shows of the week are presented as free concerts in public spaces that are in the city’s most central spots. Some of this year’s headliners include Action Bronson, The New Pornographers, Best Coast, Real Estate, and Pentagram. http://nxne.com
While not exactly in Toronto, it’ll be worth the trek up to Barrie to attend the first ever WayHome festival, brought to you by the folks behind Bonnaroo. As you can probably guess just from that tidbit of information, this festival is sure to knock your socks off with an insane lineup of headliners that includes non other than Neil Young, Sam Smith, Kendrick Lamar, and Alt-J to name a few. http://wayhome.com
The 6th annual OVO Fest hits the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre this August and, as always, you won’t want to miss out. This year, Drake will perform and host alongside Kevin Hart, J. Cole, Big Sean, and a whole lot more. Any guesses as to which surprise guests might pop up on stage this year? Tickets start at $100+ http://www.ovofest2015.com/
As you can see from the list of amazing festivals in Toronto this summer, and the incredible line up of musicians that will be in town to perform, you don’t want to have to miss a show, or even a full festival due to an allergy attack. Keep yourself looking and feeling your best with the help of REACTINE® to relieve those allergy symptoms. If you’re an allergy sufferer like I am, you know it’s a good idea!
Have fun!
