The preview of this outfit prompted comments that it reminded people of Baby’s iconic outfit in Dirty Dancing while rehearsing with Johnny. Well, what can I say? Nobody puts Gracie in the corner either!

As someone who wears a lot of dark colours and tomboy-inspired looks, it’s always nice to put on something that feels totally girly every one in a while. Of course to stay true to personal style, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the house without adding a splash of my Rock n Roll tomboy signature to the overall look.

In this case I paired Smart Set‘s pretty pink tulle midi skirt with a basic charcoal long sleeve shirt to add more of a relaxed feel to the look. Playing on its fifties reference, I thought it would be fun to add a sporty chic element with Smart Set’s faux leather baseball cap before throwing on my signature biker jacket to add an edge to the outfit.

The fun thing about this piece is that it can be worn so many different ways and for so many different occasions. I can just as easily see myself wearing this with flat sandals in the summer, and even dressing it up for holiday parties as we move into the festive season.
