This is not the first What I Wore discussing “Fashion Pajamas” nor will it be the last. If you have followed this feature for long enough, you will already be familiar with the fact that I am a fashion pajamas aficionado. For those who are unfamiliar, the term refers to outfits that are deemed stylish while still allowing you to feel like you’re sleeping in bed. And, perhaps more importantly, don’t involve much more effort than mindlessly throwing clothes on your body after rolling out of bed (when you really have no choice but to leave that heavenly place.)
While my beloved polka dot pants from Ann Taylor and supple black leather biker vest from Roots are popular returns to What I Wore, the feather-print Rag & Bone blouse and IRO pumps are new pieces that I picked up at Narwhal Boutique’s most recent blowout sale pop-up shop.
Stupidly, I didn’t get to their sale until two days after it had started. There’s no doubt that I missed out on a number of good finds and super scores (seriously, the owner told me to my face) but, still, I left a happy girl with a blouse I had eyed since it first hit their racks, and a pair of the most classic pumps that no wardrobe should be without.
When I put on this outfit to be shot by Janick, he said: “Wow, my grandma wears outfits just like this.” Some might think of this as an insult, but as he assured me, his granny is a very stylish lady. Personally I was ecstatic, because there is nothing that I love more than glam granny style. If printed blouses and drawstring pants are the key ingredients to a successful look, then I guess I’ve finally nailed it.
