There’s just something about the holiday season that gets me giddy. Sure, it can be busy, stressful and hectic, but even a burnt turkey is worth it to kick back and have a laugh over a few glasses of mulled wine with your friends and family, isn’t it? When Forever 21 asked me to join their #ForeverFamily shoot last week with a loved one, I grabbed my boyfriend’s hand faster than you can say Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and headed to my favourite Forever 21 location (Yorkdale) to get us dressed.
Trust me, it’s not everyday that Josh will take part in a What I Wore photoshoot with me. In fact, I’m quite certain this is one of the first, except for that time we modelled moccasins and mukluks in the middle of Queen West. Despite the fact that he felt a little bit awkward being a model for a day, we still got cozy and had fun on set with even some impromptu dancing involved.
Forever 21 has been one of my go-to destinations for party outfits for many years, and the Forever 21 holiday collection certainly did not disappoint. As soon as I walked into the three-storey Yorkdale location I immediately picked up these amazing champagne satin culottes ($29.90). In fact, I loved them so much that I nearly tore the entire store apart trying to find the perfect pieces to complete the look. Literally, I was not willing to budge from incorporating these pants into my look no matter how long it took me to figure it out. After trying on multiple different tops and jackets, I finally settled on this zip-back sequined top in champagne ($29.90) and a surprisingly comfy pair of Alaia-esque heels similar to these ones here ($45.90).
Unlike me, Josh tends to shy away from good old fashioned holiday sparkle and instead decided to keep his outfit in line with a ‘classic Josh’ military-inspired look. Shopping at Forever 21 Yorkdale is not only great for me, but awesome for Josh too since it offers the largest selection of Forever 21 men’s clothing in the Toronto area. Here Josh is wearing a simple short sleeve button-collar shirt in black ($17.90), classic twill pants in olive ($26.90) and a military style jacket similar to this one ($45.80).
Although it would be rare for even me to show up at a party with an outfit change in tow, in this case I did bring one other more option to show you guys how I could style a more ‘laid-back’ holiday look that, yes, still managed to incorporate some of that holiday sparkle I love so much. As you’ll see from the first photo at the top of this post, I wore this V-cut faux leather dress ($34.90) with a crisp white shirt layered underneath that’s similar to this one ($29.90) and a pair of sparkly Saint Laurent-inspired gold booties.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!
