What I Wore: BENCH at NXNE 2015 #24HourLife

When Bench Canada approached me to check out NXNE 2015 with them, I thought ‘Sure, why not?’. Here was an opportunity to explore my favourite annual music festival in Toronto, with a brand that has quickly proven to me that they’re about more than just workout wear. I love their brand hashtag #24HourLife, because of how much it resonates with my life, and round-the-clock schedule. On a daily basis it feels like I’m on the go for all 24 hours in the day, and I love it, even though it can be hard to keep up with. Adding in a concert circuit to the end of the day for one week? Why the heck not! I’ll sleep when I’m dead, right?

Naturally checking out NXNE 2015 with Bench Canada meant first heading to a nearby retail location to get decked out for the week. I was hesitant, at first, worried that I might not find anything suitable for concert hopping, but it was a challenge I was up to. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time Bench surprised me with the clever design of some of their haute basics. In fact, I even wore a head-to-toe look from Bench to shoot scenes for up-coming episodes of Style Jaunt in Mexico with FLARE and Air Transat.

Almost immediately upon entering their Eaton Centre location, I gravitated towards this ‘REFLECKT‘ graphic tee, that was an easy substitute for the classic rock tee. Next, the ‘Active Skort Skort‘ (that’s right, with shorts hiding underneath) would be perfect for any impromptu crowd surfing that might occur at show. Who knew wearing a mini skirt could be so comfy and keep you from pulling a Britney in the middle of a party? Thank you, Bench! This was the perfect outfit to wear for the first night of shows when I stopped by the NXNE HQ for the official launch party, and caught Moon King‘s set at The Horseshoe later in the night.

What else did I find from Bench to wear at NXNE 2015? Another easy graphic tee in the ‘ISCREAM‘ print with a pair of their super comfy, super stretchy ‘Fasterest V1 Skinny‘ jeans to see Warpaint at Adelaide Hall. Since the weather has been cool at night, the jeans were actually the perfect piece of clothing to wear while running around town. It might seem weird to head to Bench for a new pair of jeans, but, trust me, these jeans feel like you’re wearing a pair of their leggings – they’re THAT comfy. For Saturday night’s festivities I chose the colourful ‘GLOBALIZATION‘ dress with the ‘Stripe BBQ Jacket‘ tied around my waist for when the sun went down. There was no way I was going to miss Best Coast and The New Pornographers at Yonge & Dundas Square just because I got cold! And I sure didn’t.
