It should come as no surprise that, as a fashion lover and blogger, I love to check out (and try out) the trends that come about each season. Even more fun is getting to play dress up with an emphasis on channelling specific trends, and incorporating them into my personal style.
When FLARE and Hudson’s Bay asked me to test drive two major fall trends from their Fall/Winter Lookbook, I was more than pleased to be assigned to try an ‘Active’ look, and a ‘Cozy’ look complete with minimal neutrals.
Since my style has always had a rather sporty influence, and I happen to have an obsession with cozy basics, I couldn’t think of any two trends that would be a better fit for my style.
Take a look at how I styled these two major trends for F/W15 below!
Look 1: Active
Fall’s ‘Active’ trend is less about a hint of athletic influence, and more about straight up wearing your gym clothes on the street. In a chic way, of course. And why not? These days, workout gear looks just as good (and cool) inside or outside of the gym. Personally, whether I’m walking to a workout class, or simply to go about my day, I love wearing an ‘Active’ look with the addition of a great pair of sunglasses and a good clutch for a touch of insta-glam.
Outfit Details: Zip Jacket by Nike $185, Stella McCartney for Adidas mesh top $65, Nike pattern legging $120, Marc by Marc Jacobs black leather clutch $440, Nike Free FlyKnit Runners $165, all from Hudson’s Bay.
Look 2: Cozy
If the word ‘cozy’ has you reaching for your nearest Christmas sweater, stop right there. This fall/winter the cozy trend is all about cozy minimal neutrals. Think chunky knits and luxe cashmere, all in a neutral palette for the most current look. Considering my winter uniform consists of black pants and a grey cashmere sweater, I am all over this trend for fall.
Outfit Details: Prada Sunglasses $380, LINE coat $325, Vince cashmere sweater $465, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pants $520, Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes $420, all from Hudson’s Bay.
What are some of your favourite trends for Fall/Winter 2015?
