It may be September, but as Canadians we will milk every last drop of sunshine and “summer” until the first snowfall hits the ground. So just because the leaves have turned to a lovely shade of brown, don’t feel like it’s time to say goodbye to good ol’ BBQ parties with friends just yet.

Often when preparing for a BBQ or dinner parties in general, I try to find recipes that are quick, easy, very delicious, and can be made in mass. After all, the last thing you want is to get stuck in the kitchen all night and miss out on all the fun.

Cocktails are something I struggle with at my parties, mainly because I’m allergic to sugary alcoholic drinks, and tend to stick with the basics such as wine, and a good whiskey on the rocks. However, when this bottle of Crazy Uncle‘s basil, honey and lime daiquiri showed up at my door, I knew I could turn it into a party hit.

While the instructions say to enjoy it simply over ice (which you can, of course) I decided to shake things up a bit and turn it into something more like a basil-infused margarita. The below recipe is for one serving:

Place a bunch of fresh basil leaves in your blender. I started with five small leaves, but you can easily increase the amount to taste.

Fill a glass with ice and top with Crazy Uncle‘s basil, honey and lime daiquiri mix.

Blend!

Pour the frozen mix into your desired glass and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Now enjoy! Even if it’s before noon at your cottage, as above.
