Not too long ago I previewed the spring/summer 2014 collection of Stella & Dot and was instantly drawn to their poisson-printed pieces. I was thrilled to later hear that 100% of net proceeds from purchases of this particular capsule collection will be donated to the HollyRod foundation in support of National Autism Awareness Month throughout the month of April.
The HollyRod foundation was founded in 1997 by actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, to help provide compassionate care to those living with autism and Parkinson’s disease. This year marks the second year that Stella & Dot has partnered with HollyRod, with last year’s funds helping to support programs across both the U.S. and Canada.
To use the words of Stella & Dot CEO and Founder, Jessica Herrin, “(women) can take very simple action to make a big impact. Not only will we help raise funds, but we also raise awareness.” It’s not everyday that your shopping habits (or addiction as I like to call mine) can help make difference for the lives of others. Why not start today?
