On any given day, it’s hard for me to enter a local drug store without going a little wild in the beauty department. Like most of you, I’ve loved the recent initiatives many retailers have taken to revamp the designated beauty areas to reflect the experiences of shopping in top department stores and the beloved beauty haven that is Sephora.
Rexall is the latest drug store to launch a new and improved beauty department with it’s first #RexallGlam location unveiled this week at 901 Eglington Avenue West in Toronto. The new #InspiredBeauty section of the shop now offers a stylish and spacious area of the store that’s dedicated to all things beauty and skincare with an impressive range of brands and products available for purchase.

While attending their event launch, I was excited to see a dynamic range of brands on offer that includes both large and small beauty brands to create an accessible yet exciting array of products to choose from. Of course, grab-and-go favourites by brands such as Cover Girl, Maybelline and Lancome line the walls (as we’ve come to rely on), but on a shelf nearby you’ll also find the likes of St. Tropez, Avene, and even hard-to-find Canadian beauty brands such as Cargo and Deciem.

Naturally, it was extremely tempting to shop at the launch party and I couldn’t help picking up a few new great products to take home with me. Since it had been years since my last purchase from Cargo beauty (the brand has been much harder to find in Toronto since it was no longer carried at Sephora) and I was excited to shop their products once again. I chose the ‘Beach Blush’ for a fresh glow by the cosmetics company that was founded in Toronto. The next brand I added to my basket was Deceim, another Toronto-based brand that’s not readily available around the city. I’ve been lusting over their photography foundation for perfect selfie-ready skin, and was so happy to finally get my hands on some.
So happy to see Deciem available in the new Rexall beauty department!
Since Cover Girl makes some of my favourite red lipsticks, I needed to grab one from the Katy Perry collection, along with a classic black mascara. Not only do I love these products, but I totally obsessed with the minimalist packaging they created for the collaboration! Last but not least, I indulged in a new powder brush simply because I couldn’t resist the beautiful rose gold colour. Can you blame me?
