My girl Lindsay went to check out Winks Eyelash Boutique in Yorkville to give her lashes a makeover. Here she shares her first experience with eyelash extensions!
Imagine waking up with the perfect set of lashes, long, curled and ready to take on the world. That is exactly what Winks Eyelash Boutique in Yorkville will give you. For as long as we can remember women have been on the hunt for anything that will enhance their eyelashes, we’ve all been through dozens of mascaras that advertise, a better curl, length and thickness but now the lash game has been radically changed. Put the mascara down and check out Winks, it’s exactly what I did.
Now the words eyelash extension can be a little scary if you’re like me and new to this world, but once you enter the boutique and your consultant greets you, the nerves disappear. Soothing music plays as you describe to her what kind of lashes you want (literally, you get to pick your dream set!); be prepared by not wearing any eye makeup or curling your lashes, as well as the timing of the session, which can last between 1 hour to 2 ½ hours. After your little nap, the before and after will stun you and make you want to show them off to everyone you know!

Only thing I would say, is they take a little getting used to if you’re not one who wears fake eyelashes regularly, and make sure to be very gentle with them, these babies need all the TLC they can get. But say goodbye to curlers, glue and mascara messes because these lashes will need no help looking any better than they already do!
Prices range from $50-$295 and touch ups every 2-3weeks can be anywhere from $50-$85 depending on the specific set you have.
The amount of comments you’ll get is alarming; people will even stop you on the street! Between the stress-free morning and night routines they will give you and the confidence when out and about, I’d say this new little addiction of mine is one that is totally worth it. PS.
