Ho Ho Ho Happy Holidays Everyone!! Here I am pretending to be Santa at Square One yesterday morning. If you can believe it, this photo was taken sometime between the hours of 5am-9am while I was there to present the holiday fashion segment on CP24 Live Eye. In case you missed it, here’s a recap!
Even though it looks like I coordinated my outfit with Santa’s winter wonderland at Square One, my only real intention was to pull off a stylish but comfortable look that would be easy to throw on at 4am, and allow me to work without fuss before we went to air. In yesterday’s blog post I wrote about my personal desire to only wear chic pajamas over the holidays; this head-to-toe outfit that I recently picked up from Ann Taylor fulfills that desire while still making me presentable enough to actually leave my house. Win!
For my on-air appearance alongside host, Nalini Sharma, I opted for a 70s-inspired look from Topshop at Square One. Because the only thing I like as much as pajamas is a jumpsuit, and pretty much anything in a metallic.
In the first half of the fashion segment I presented outfit ideas for ‘the holiday party.’ Camille (on the left) looked amazing in her white lace dress from White House Black Market which recently opened its doors at Square One. If you’re stuck on shoe choice and colour with this type of dress, I suggest adding a pop of colour with accessories, like the suede burgundy pumps we added to Camille’s look.
Brett looked like a hunky sharp dressed man for his holiday party look, with clothing from Banana Republic and shoes from Lacoste. As Nalini and I discussed on air, it’s not a good look for guys to show up in “funny” Christmas sweaters. Wearing this kind of sweater, however, will catch the attention of others for the right reasons.
Dajana’s red jacquard dress looks so much like something that’s straight off the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 runway show that it’s hard to believe I found it at Ann Taylor! What’s great about this dress is that you can wear it on its own, or change up the look with a jacket or sweater layered on top. In this case I substituted the “statement necklace” with an embellished faux-fur collar that I found at Ann Taylor as well.
Next up we had the kids show off their holiday party looks. While I think it’s fun to dress kids up, it’s more important to make sure they can still be kids in their outfits. If you’re putting them in something they can’t run around in or mess up, it might not be the right thing to try and have them wear. For the two boys, I outfitted them both in clothing from Tommy Hilfiger and shoes from Zara Kids. Their little sister, Julia, modelled my example of how to channel the punk trend into a child-friendly holiday look. She’s definitely rockin’ little punk princess!
Once we wrapped the first half of the fashion segment we took a fun family photo! Aren’t we cute?
For the second half of the fashion segment we returned to discuss what to wear for NYE! Zara‘s Square One location was recently renovated and is now a massive one-stop shop for any fashionable family. I was able to find these two great looks for Camille and Brett in under 10 minutes! I’d like to also mention that the staff at Zara’s Square One location were all incredibly stylish, helpful and nice. One of the Zara Man representatives even pointed out how much he loves my Givenchy rain boots. I mean, he’s the only person who has ever known they are Givenchy without asking! I love meeting the fashion obsessed.
To off-set Camille’s pretty 60s-inspired look, I chose a rock n roll look for Dajana from Michael Kors. Don’t you think it’s so much fresher to show up to a new years party in something like this rather than your typical Black Tie outfit? I do! Dajana and I actually met this summer while I worked on a new reality show that she stars in and it was so nice to reconnect with her again. She is such a gorgeous and down-to-earth girl that’s always a pleasure to work with.
Hair and makeup was provided by the talented Misty Fox. For Camille’s 60s look, Misty created a liquid lined cat eye and a standout pout in a soft pink.
Dajana wore this beautiful fuchsia lip colour for both of her looks. Even with the red jacquard dress from Ann Taylor! Misty recommends trying a pink lip with a red dress this season to create a more updated look than the standard nude lip and smokey eye.
Details of Dajana’s amazing silver jeans and studded clutch, both from Michael Kors at Square One.
Camille’s super hot shoes from Zara that I’m obsessed with, and clutch from Topshop.
The handsome Brett is his gorgeous velvet blazer and paisley bow tie from Zara. I love this look on him!
This is our second family photo minus this kids. We sent them home because these NYE looks are all about letting the adults play!
It was so much fun to work with the Square One team and CP24 Live Eye for this holiday fashion segment. If you haven’t visited Square One recently, I highly recommend going in to check out all of their new premium retailers that have opened up at the shopping centre. It really is a great one-stop shopping centre for all of your holiday outfit shopping, and with their vast range of retailers there’s no trouble finding items to suit every budget!
HAPPY HOLIDAY SHOPPING!
