It feels like forever ago that I found this cape at Plenty in Vancouver. It was during my trip to the west coast back in September (my first visit since I was 12) that I was taken to Plenty for the first time by my sista from another motha, Malania. Thank god I found it though, right? How else would I have I achieved my Little Not-So-Red Riding Hood look all season? Since the weather has been so up and down this fall and winter, this piece has been an essential that’s worked over everything from work blouses to sweaters and leather jackets when the cold weather really hit.
To really play up the look, I often pair it with my vintage mink hat, found last year at a Value Village near Niagara-on-the-Lake for eight dollars. This thing is in perfect condition and had never been worn when I found it. If you like to wear fur, remember to keep your eyes peeled during the off seasons because you will often find hidden gems when the racks aren’t picked over and people aren’t looking.
All season I have obsessed over the tall boot. Not that I’ve turned my back on the beloved day-to-day ankle boot, but, there’s just something so feminine and right now about an elegant tall boot. Not to mention they keep you extra warm during colder months, especially if you’re a lover of the mini like me. These boots by Enzo Angiolini, found at Nine West at Vaughan Mills, are so comfy I consider them my UGG boots – even with the 4″ (and counting) high heel. The overall look makes me feel something like a Russian princess heading to school, and I’m totally okay with that.
What I Wore: vintage mink hat from Value Village, cape from Plenty, astrology-print blouse from Club Monaco, pleated chiffon skirt from Club Monaco, boots by Enzo Angiolini at Nine West, bag by Jas MB from Shop Sauvage.
