Pick up the new December issue of Marie Claire, turn to page 118, and you will find yours truly smack in the middle of the page! That’s right, it’s really me in my favourite hat that I can’t find, talking about my eyebrows. Marie Claire’s beauty team came to town back in September to shoot their “Beauty Roadshow” - this time spotlighting Toronto gals such as myself in a street style shoot during TIFF.
I have no idea how they found me but I’m so happy they did, and props to their photographer for the wicked shot. Grab a copy and check it out, you will also find some of the cities finest blogettes featured alongside including the Beckermans,Elizabeth Clark, and Dani of Kastor & Pollux.
Marie Claire’s What I Love About Me feature reminded me of another beauty-focused interview I took part in on the GlossyBox blog. If you’ve ever wondered about my day-to-day beauty regime and tips, check out my 5 Glossy Gab Q&As below!
1.What scent do you wear?
I love perfume and have a lot of different kinds. Because of this I do tend to rotate between scents. Forbidden Euphoria by Calvin Klein has been my got-to signature scent over the past year.
2. What are the 5 beauty products you can’t live without?
Argan Oil – it’s an amazing all-natural and organic product you can buy at most grocery stores. I use it as a face moisturizer and in my hair. If I could afford to use it over my entire body I would.
Dry Shampoo – My hair is on the dry side so I don’t like to wash it often. That combined with a hectic schedule makes dry shampoo a secret weapon. Most often I use Toni & Guy’s because it smells really good.
Perfume – it’s the final step before I run out the door and always makes me feel complete and ready to take on the day.
Essencia Pure Rose Water – In the mornings and evenings I give my face a spritz of rose water before I put anything else on. It’s great for the skin and extremely relaxing and refreshing after a busy day.
Kevin Murphy’s Easy Rider – one of my signature hair looks has definitely become the top knot over the past few years. I like to have my hair out of my face when I’m busy working. To tame fly-aways and keep it looking slick, this anti frizz cream works miracles.
3. What’s your best beauty insider tip?
Don’t cheap out on your skincare and beauty products. If you care about what’s going into your body, why wouldn’t you care about what’s going onto your body?
4. What beauty product do you carry around everywhere you go?
A bold lipstick (alongside my lip balm). It’s amazing how a good lip can transform your look, and how you feel.
5. What are your go-to hair products?
I’ve been using a very good organic shampoo and conditioner by Giovanni that I love. I’ve also been adding in drops of Seabuckthorn Berry Oil while washing my hair, as it is supposed to be great for hair. Normally I’ll put in a leave-in conditioner afterwards and apply some argan oil or a serum to my hair while it dries.
