Since I’m in Marbella for a week vacationing with my family, I thought who better to call upon for a Spanish city guide than my friend Jessica Milan who spends half her year (if not more) in Ibiza? Jess and I met way back in our first year of university at Ryerson’s Fashion School. Like any smart person with legs as long as hers, she soon left and ventured into modelling. A few years into her career she gradually fell into photography, which then lead to the launch of her popular vegan food blog, Lookbook Cookbook. Jess has spent the last three summers living in Ibiza and will spend nearly a full year there in 2013. This girl is a tastemaker you can trust to know where to go for the best food, parties, and places, I can’t think of a better person to guide us through Ibiza. Now, who wants to book a group trip?
CITY GUIDE: JESSICA’S IBIZA
Where To Eat:
Soba Noodle Salad from La Paloma, Jess’s favourite dish
For breakfasts I love Out of Time Cafe. It’s by the castle in Ibiza town and is great for people watching and lazing around. I usually order fresh gazpacho or juice.
La Paloma is my all time favourite restaurant in Ibiza. It’s very quaint, yet chic with outdoor seating overlooking the Ibiza countryside. The food is all fresh, and made with love. For lunch I get the soba noodle salad and for dinner I get whatever the bio plate is that night.
Yemanja is my favourite beach side restaurant. They serve amazing fresh salads for lunch and the best Cava Sangria.
Where To Drink:
Jess at one of her many favourite cafes and hangout spots
I tend to stay away from the big clubs in Ibiza, the only one I really enjoy going to is DC10. They play the best music and you know you will always run into all of your friends.
There are also always lots of cool day time parties on the beach at random places with names I don’t even know! And of course, the villa parties.
If I am ever looking to have a casual drink, I usually just go to Plaza del Parque, which is the main square in Ibiza town. There are a ton of cute cafes there and lots of people hanging out.
Where To Shop:
Who needs shopping in Ibiza when you’ve got this?
I’m not too big on shopping in Ibiza, but Revolver in Ibiza town is always amazing for labels like McQueen, and Commes des Garcon. If you are looking for something a little more free spirited and Ibiza style, then the Hippie Market Las Dalias is the place to go.
Where To… enjoy the sunset and get the best coffee:
Sunset life in Ibiza
I love going to Cala Compte for sunset. It’s my favourite beach in Ibiza and the view there is amazing. Salinas beach is another fav, it has the clearest water and tons of great people watching.
My favourite cafe is Croissant Show. It’s in a popular square in Ibiza town, and you are always sure to see the same locals there milling about. Not to mention it has the best pastries and coffee.
