Everyone, I am so excited to introduce you to my newest beauty contributor – Ms. Ronnie Dag of SheShe Beauty! Ronnie has been responsible for the majority of my best beauty moments over the past year, she has helped me get ready for everything from blog shoots to TV appearances. Remember that amazing blonde weave I rocked in What I Wore? Yeah, that was all thanks to her genius vision and creative talent. Since Halloween is next week (already, can you believe it?) we wanted to get you inspired with a beauty look to wear night-of, or just whenever you feel like it. Ronnie and I are both OBSESSED with astrology, tarot cards, and all kinds of witchy craft magic. Naturally, we felt it fitting to present a look called “Lunar Chic” – take it away Ronnie!

Considering Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year, I have decided to create a look that can be worn on a “school day” AKA during a regular day without scaring people. I am not embarrassed to admit that I am total cosmos fanatic – crystal ball gazer and all-around mystic – and do seriously believe in my daily horoscope. Since these are occult beliefs I think its quite natural I chose to unleash the luster of the moon for my daytime masquerade.

The look is really quite simple, the key is to strategically apply highlighter all over the face.  Do not be afraid to apply it to your forehead, browbone, cheeckbones, even the apples, and *cupids bow. I love Moon Beam, by Benefit. It can be worn under your foundation or alone for an ehtereal glow. Blending is key. I prefer a large fluffly brush for applying my foundation. MAC has a great one numbered #187.

For the eyes I first applied Crystal by MAC all over the lid and applied Flirty to the crease. Both are frost shadows. Cream shadows are also excellent for creating that sheeny look on the lids. On the lips I went bold, I am obseesed with my new YSL creme lipstick, the shade is 101 Violet Singulaire. It goes on quite sheer, and you can add more for more intense color. For added drama I lined and filled my lips with black eyeliner. This step is really essential for “moon prism” staying power, and grounds the violet. If thats too cray for you, just go sans liner – it’s a great violet wash.

Lastly, finish the whole look with a dusting of iridesenct pressed powder to set the look, I chose Delicacy by MAC. Don’t forget to accessorize with Moon Rock ring on your finger and consider yourself the newest Sailor Moon Scout!

Happy Halloween everyone!
