While some recycle water bottles and others plant trees, H&M is launching a new line this spring made with sustainable fabrics. Fresh off the success of last year’s one-off Garden Collection, this new, ongoing line for women, men and kids will be made from environmentally-adapted materials like organic cotton and linen, and Tencel, a silky, renewable textile. The collection takes on a minimalist look, with variations of white dominating the colour palette. Look for it to hit stores worldwide on April 14th. Starting at $14.95.
Proud shoe fetishist — and street-style blogger-turned-pro — Tommy Ton has been recruited by Canadian company ALDO to shoot a selection of specially-made collections the shoe giant produced for six labels exclusively for New York Fashion Week. Among our ALDO favourites are the Christian Cota military-inspired boots and Cushnie et Ochs monochromatic platform chunky heels. In other shoe news, Canadian jersey mavericks Greta Constantine also teamed up with the brand to create limited-edition, oh-so-coveted heels for spring 2011 that got an instant shout-out in Vogue Nippon’s March 2011 issue. ALDO collaborated on exclusive shoes for the fashion brand’s Toronto show, and created shoes for newcomer Duy’s Toronto Fashion Week show.
