This What I Wore post is in honour of Jeremy Laing‘s New York Fashion Week show on Sunday that I missed by one day (I had to fly back home the night before), and a nod to BCBGMAXAZRIA‘s FW13 show, where the beanie was rocked by every model down the runway. Hooray! My favourite winter accessory isn’t going anywhere.
The dress, you might have guessed, is by Jeremy Laing - a sample I found at his last studio sample sale in Toronto, that I had almost bought just a month or two earlier at the 4th Annual Frocktail Party. It’s as though this dress knew it was meant to be mine, and sneakily made sure it found its way into my closet.
As a proud Scorpio and firm believer in astrology, I love that this dress makes me look like a walking, talking chart. The one sided, kimono-like sleeve reminds of Merlin the wizard, giving me powers to wave a magic wand and turn people into some sort of cute pet. Not actually, of course.
My next travel itinerary is taking me to Spain this Saturday for one week of relaxation with my family. As one “fancy dress” outfit should always be packed, I can’t wait to kick of my hat and boots and pair this number with a great pair of sandal and sunnies.
