Beach life in February! Not exactly the norm for a Canadian girl, but this week it’s a reality as I vacation in Marbella, Spain with my family. This is our second year in a row spending time in Marbella together in the winter. My brother is a professional ballet dancer who lives and works in Germany, since he doesn’t get time off over Christmas to come home, we now all meet in Europe when he gets his holiday later in the season. Sadly most of this week calls for overcast skies and rain, but, thankfully, the sunshine is out today and it is gorgeous.
While in New York City last week with BCBGMAXAZRIA, I popped by their 5th avenue boutique after a visit to their manhattan HQ. I mean, who wouldn’t get the itch to shop after exploring through three floors of their office? As soon as I walked in I picked up these shorts from their runway collection and knew they would be perfect for Spain. Then I found their denim-print chiffon asymmetrical blouse that I love worn together – so easy and fun! After months of heavy layers and dark colours, it sure feels good to show some (very pale) skin and wear bright prints again.
The sunglasses are ones I found at my favourite consignment store in NYC, Tokio7 in the East Village. I’ve been longing for new sunglasses recently and felt a strong urge to get down to Tokio7 to look for some, even if it was going to be difficult in a city recently struck by the Nemo blizzard. The trek, however, was worth it as these Lanvin sunglasses were there waiting for me. The silver sandals are ones I found the other day in a town nearby called Estepona, can you believe they were only 20 euros? I can’t.
What I Wore: blouse and shorts by BCBGMAXAZRIA, Lanvin sunglasses from Tokio7, evil eye bracelet by Biko, silver sandals by Avarca Menorquina.
