Summertime is all about spending as little time indoors as possible. Meaning early mornings extend into late nights on the regular, and a girl’s gotta be prepared for whatever comes her way, right? Lately I’ve noticed that my makeup bag is filled with little mini beauty essentials that I can’t live without. Not only are they my favourite products, but they’re so small and light that I’m able to travel with everything I need so easily whether I’m spending a day at the park or heading out of town. Since most of you are probably planning a fun-filled long weekend to celebrate Pride and Canada Day, I thought I would share a lesson on how someone who has a tendency to overpack tries to travel light.

Nourishing your skin is always important, and when swimming or in the hot sun, it is particularly important to keep it hydrated and protected. But what you gonna do, carry a big bottle of Jergens around? Nuh-uh honey boo boo! Find your favourite brand in travel size, sample bottles of Kiehl’s Creme de Corps is a particular favourite of mine. Remember, if it don’t fit in your pocket, it don’t come with you.

1. Kiehl’s Creme de Corps (sample size), 2. Smith’s Minted Rose lip balm from American Apparel, 3. lighter from Spain (never know when you might need one!), 4. concealer from Dalish Cosmetics.

Who says luxury products don’t come in mini!? As someone who only likes to wear YSL lipstick, these teeny tiny versions found for me by my cousin at the Holt Renfrew beauty sale (she works there), are pretty much my favourite things in the whole world. I’m also big on perfume that you can take with you to freshen up with a spritz throughout the day. “Love, Chloe” purse spray wins for best perfume in the best mini bottle.

1. Mini YSL lipstick in red (sample), 2. DIY travel perfume containing Tom Ford’s Black Violet, 3. Love, Chloe travel perfume available at The Bay, 4. Mini YSL lipstick in pink (sample).

Lately I’ve become obsessed with eye creams in an effort to keep any signs of aging at bay. With my schedule, I also tend to suffer from dark circles, puffy eyes and dehydration which is apparently what can cause the look of wrinkles around the eyes. I’ve tried many an eye roll on to try and help this, but I’ve never come across one that I like as much as L’Occitane‘s new Eye Roll-On with Organic Angelica Water and Essential Oil.

You may (may not) have noticed that I like to wear my hair up in a top knot or ponytail on a regular basis. Like most humans with hair, dealing with flyaways is often an issue. My little Pocket Pom from P&T is my secret weapon, and it also smells like yummy coconuts.

The little Swiss Army knife? That thing lives on my keychain and is awesome because it is hot pink and comes with a nail file and mini scissors, perfect for an emergency manicure on the go.

1. Estee Lauder Sumptuous mascara (sample), 2. Pocket Pom from P&T MFG.CO., 3. L’Occitane Eye Roll-On, 4. Swiss Army classic in Hot Pink, 5. Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Eye Cream with Clary Sage.

HAPPY PRIDE/LONG WEEKEND EVERYONE!! xo
