My party days are long gone now, and these days I much prefer to stay in and catch up on Netflix rather than the next party, post 9pm. What will get me up, out, and into a dress after 9pm on any night of the week, however, is a fantastic event for a great cause. As a creative person living and working in Toronto, supporting the arts is very important to me, and I try to get involved as often as I can. One party I always look forward to every year is Operanation – the glamourous annual affair at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, in support of the Canadian Opera Company.
Operanation 2016 is coming up next week on Thursday May 19th, 2016, and this year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever. Taking inspiration from the darkly seductive villainess of Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute – coming to the Canadian Opera Company mainstage in winter 2017 – Operanation: Queen of the Night guarantees an evening of wicked indulgence, from operatic and popular music performances, to live art installations, to an inspired culinary inspiration.
This year’s event highlights including a headlining performance by Canadian pop sensation, Dragonette, a massive chocolate display by Brandon Olsen (remember him from my March Local Faves video?), live art installation by Gillian G., custom designed temporary tattoos by tattoo artist Curtis Montgomery, multidisciplinary artist Shary Boyle and clothing designer Tanya Taylor with purchase of raffle ticket, and colouring book take-aways by Samara Shuter.
For the first time ever, Operanation is offering 2 tickets for a giveaway and chose none other than yours truly to host the exclusive contest! Each ticket is worth $150 CAD + HST and will get you in to one of the most highly anticipated parties of the year!
