Just in time for the start of New York Fashion Week this Thursday, I called upon my dear friend (and DJ darling) Brendan Fallis to give us his guide to New York City. Have you heard of him before? Perhaps you recognize his name from headlining some of the hottest parties around the world. Aside from being the official DJ for Theophilus London, his roster includes Vogue (he is one of their official DJs), Alexander Wang, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Interview Magazine… I could go on but I think you get the picture. He is hot shit. Needless to say, if you find yourself at NYFW this season, you are sure to come across Brendan curating many a party with his music selections.

Even with my frequent visits to NYC, I’ve jotted down Brendan’s recommendations for my next trip. I’m sure you will find this Canadian import’s in-the-know guide quite handy too.

CITY GUIDE: BRENDAN’S NEW YORK CITY

Where To Eat:

Breakfast: Butcher’s Daughter at Kenmare and Elizabeth. Fresh juice blends and homemade granola in pretty much my ultimate designed restaurant, or at least how I’d want my kitchen to look.

Lunch: Cafe Select at Kenmare and Lafayette. A light spinach salad and a Waiola Coconut Water. If you know about Select, and you know people there, then you’re in the know.

Gracie’s Note: The last time I was at Cafe Select I was having a glass of wine at a table outside when a newly pregnant Julia Restoin Roitfeld hopped out of a cab (looking like the most glam pregnant girl in the whole world, but of course) and walked inside for dinner.

Dinner: Acme at Great Jones and Lafayette. It’s the best atmosphere and food in NYC right now, hands down. And the bar downstairs is always a great time, if you know Zac at the door. Try the whipped egg white with Mushroom in shell.

Where to Drink:

The Bar: I have a little spot that I love and there’s always room for two at the bar. I’d love to tell you what it is, but if I did, those two seats might be tougher to come by, so I’m going to have to keep it under wraps.

The Party: Bow at Spring and Bowery. Clubs turnover quickly in NYC, so you need to know what’s new and good while it’s good or you’re two steps behind in under a month. Right now Bow is the only spot to hit late night. Dark corners, loud music of all sorts and the best curation of a cool downtown crowd. You can’t go wrong.

Where to Shop:

Where to…. see the best view of the city.

There’s a building at 902 broadway, that has the best unobstructed view of the city for 360 degrees. It’s a little tricky to get yourself to the roof past security, but with a little creativity, you’ll see why it’s worth trying. It’s a magical spot at sunset.
