Dynamo sister act Chloé and Parris Gordon, the design brains behind cult label Chloé comme Parris, continue to prove their star is steadily on the rise with the Toronto debut of their SS13 collection.

To the rhythm of Robert Plant’s legendary voice, a dreamy sea of models took the runway in a parade of soft pink, pigeon grey, not-quite white and slate. Each outfit in the procession belonged to the closet of my perfect girl: confident yet laid back, progressive and simultaneously nostalgic, and of course, she loves Zeppelin. She’s the kind of girl that runs around the world without an end destination in mind.

The collection is a meditation on freedom, and exemplary of the designers’ relationship with the art of subtly. Prints are abound, but demur in their muted tones. Pieces like the show stealing pastel pink biker jacket are tailored, while never constraining or closely cropped to the figure. The liberty of the clothing was apparent as models glided down the runway in savvy separates and ethereal dresses.

The natural ebb and flow of the collection could easily transplant you to a summer’s day in Big Sur circa 1965. Dressed in Chloé comme Parris, the future seems a nostalgic paradise, custom designed for day-dreamers with an insatiable sense of wanderlust.
