What I Wore Old Navy

When Old Navy asked me to give a pair of their Rockstar Skinnies a try, an image of Jimi Hendrix instantly popped into my head as the source of my outfit inspiration. With him in mind, I avoided your typical indigo options and instead beelined for these babies, mainly attracted to their lovely shade of burgundy, and you know Jimi loved a good deep red.

He also loved to mix prints and wasn’t afraid of wearing a statement print on a good silk scarf or shirt, sometimes both at the same time. Worn unbuttoned, this printed dress from Club Monaco reminded me of something that would easily get the Jimi Hendrix wardrobe approval. To add another layer of print, I reached for my boyfriend’s “psychedelic” tie-dye tank top.

Jimi also liked a good boot, especially one with a nice pointed toe, which made Old Navy‘s western-influenced little booties the perfect pair to channel his look. When he wasn’t showing off his amazing ‘fro, or accessorizing with a gypsy scarf around his head, he was keen on a good black hat. Although mine is a dark navy, it was the perfect piece to complete the look.
