So maybe a long sleeve silk blouse and a pair of trousers aren’t exactly what I want to (or can) wear in Toronto’s current 40-degree heat situation, but flipping through my photo gallery the other day, I came across these photos I shot with my talented friend Dave Gillespie earlier this summer for a campaign with Keen Footwear, and I wanted to share more of the images that didn’t get shared at the time. After all – and I hate to say it – fall is just around the corner at this point in the summer, isn’t it?
This look was created around the challenge of styling the Keen shoes in a stylish way. Personally, I’m always up for the challenge when it comes to shopping at unexpected places or trying to style something I might not normally wear in a way that I would. I was new to Keen shoes at the time of the campaign, but I liked their quirkiness and could see the potential they had to be worn in a cool way. And thankfully, wearing sneakers with anything and everything is very in fashion at the moment, which made my job a whole lot easier.
I really love the look of long and loosely tailored pieces worn with laid back sneakers for a super chic city outfit that can take you from the office to brunch. These wide legged striped pants are by designer Melissa Nepton of Montreal that I found at my mom’s boutique, 290 ION Fashion, and just had to have.
Putting the whole look together was easy once I had the pants and the shoes. All I needed was an easy blouse like this one from Equipment with cutout shoulders, complete with my trusty Chanel bag and round Prada sunglasses. Come fall (for real) you can bet that I will still be rocking this look with the addition of my signature moto jacket.
