Forever in search of natural and organic beauty products that actually work, I’ve recently come across a few new items that have re-vamped by au naturale regime. It really surprises me how many people don’t think about what they’re putting onto their skin and into their body. Spending a few extra extra dollars for higher quality products should be a no brainer – you’re keeping yourself beautiful, healthy and chemical free!

1. The Vegan Manicure at Lush & Lavish

Now here’s a salon and spa that really speaks my language. Set on the trendy strip of Ossington just south of Dundas, it is a “one stop shop for organic beauty”. I came across Lush & Lavish while in a last minute search for a place that could fit me in for some much-needed pampering on a Saturday afternoon. Intrigued by their promise of natural product use for my manicure, facial, and blow out – I booked in.

In between my Express European Facial (only 30 minutes for the gal on the go) and Blow Dry & Style (only $30), I sat down for their Lavish Manicure ($45) that uses nail polish from SpaRitual – an eco-friendly product line that uses Vegan ingredients from around the world.

Did you ever think a Vegan manicure that looked this good was possible? I sure didn’t but I am now 100% addicted. I mean, just look at all the colours available!

2. Giovanni Organic/Eco Chic Hair Care

If you can’t give up Pantene Pro-V because it makes your hair so silky and smooth here’s a news flash: that’s because its full of terrible evil chemicals that do that to fool you into thinking you have healthy hair! It is tough to find a chemical-free shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t leave you hair feeling like hay, but I’ve been really impressed with the Smooth as Silk set from Giovanni. This is a Phthalates and Paraben-free line that is completely vegan and obviously does not test on animals.

3. Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil

Over the past few months I have become the unofficial ambassador for using 100% organic Argan oil – I’ve literally got everyone to toss out their regular moisturiser in exchange for day and night use of Argan oil on the face, body and hair – it’s AMAZING.

On top of this, I’ve recently added the daily intake of 100% pure Himalayan Sea Buckthorn Oil – promised to do incredible things to your hair and skin. A secret tip I received is to mix the Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil (not in pill form) into your creams, shampoos and conditioners for added benefit. Already, my hairdresser has told me that my hair feels “so much better!” which is the best proof that it really works.
