Tips for hosting chinese new year 2016

Did you know that Chinese New Year 2016 is coming up on February 8th? Not only is this year in celebration of the Monkey, but it is a particularly lucky year because it lands on the 8th day of the month, which is a very lucky number in Chinese culture.

As many of you know, I LOVE hosting dinner parties at #CasaGC, and I teamed up with my friends at Uncle Ben’s to show you just how easy and fun it can be to host a Chinese New Year dinner party at home. The Reunion Dinner with all of your friends and family is a huge party of the celebration, so why not take this opportunity to invite everyone over? From outfit and decor tips, to menu ideas and table settings, the three videos below have got it all and will show you just how easy it can be! Plus, you’ll also find out how you can get the chance to WIN $8,888. Wouldn’t that be a nice way to kick off 2016?

Watch the the first video below to see What I Wore and how I decorated with an easy DIY that even I could master!

Video 2 is all about the FOOD and what I’ll be making this year. I always like to make easy and delicious recipes that can feed a lot of people when I’m hosting, so you’ll see exactly why I picked the recipe featured in this video for my menu. Rest assured there are a many of super easy and YUMMY recipes available on the website, so you can pick and choose, or make everything (as I would) if you’re feeding a large party.

Last but not least, the third video of this three-part series is all about the table setting for the Reunion Dinner! When I have a large party over, I love to serve family-style for the ease of it, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style when it comes to your table setting. With red and gold being the traditional colours of Chinese New Year, you’ll get my top tips for how to incorporate the theme and add a touch of glamour without a lot of fuss. Plus, I reveal the ultimate party favour!

I truly hope these videos will inspire you to host your own Chinese New Year 2016 dinner party this year!
